What's this all about?
People are most receptive to the Gospel in the first third of life. Statistics tell us that 60-80% of responses to Christ are made by children and young people and if you come to faith as a young person you are likely to carry this through the rest of your life.
SNaK Youth Project is the combined work of Sydney North and Kuring-Gai (SNaK) presbyteries focusing on reaching young people. We are blessed to have an amazing diversity of ministry agents who are working with Youth, Children, Families and local Communities to be a witness to Christ throughout the region. We aim to resource and support those engaged in ministry with youth & young people in order to assist them in growing passionate Christian disciples. SNaK’s vision is to train, resource and network people, whether employed or volunteering with congregations so they can impact the communities around them.
The priorities of the SNaK Youth Project are to:
- Develop ‘hub’ groups to provide peer support and opportunities for collaboration between geographically smaller regions within SNaK.
- Develop a Leadership Training and Discipleship resource
- Assist with training in ways to reflect on ministry, work and spiritual life
- Pastorally support the YW’s and leaders
- Connect existing Culturally and Linguistically diverse youth groups within the area with SNaK activities and support
- Encouraging involvement in the work of the wider Church.
